WoW Forever companion pet
Lil' Smoky
Lil' Smoky is a Gnomish Engineering-only Vanilla Classic companion crafted from a rare membership-renewal schematic. Both the schematic and the finished robot bind on pickup in Vanilla, so the collector must personally pursue the Gnomish Engineering route.

How to get Lil' Smoky
Choose Gnomish Engineering and reach at least Engineering 205. Renew your Gnomish Engineering membership through Membership Card Renewal for 2 gold. A Gnome Engineer's Renewal Gift arrives by mail about 24 hours later and can contain Schematic: Lil' Smoky. Learn the schematic and craft Lil' Smoky with 1 Core of Earth, 2 Gyrochronatoms, 1 Fused Wiring, 2 Mithril Bars, and 1 Truesilver Bar. In Vanilla Classic, both the schematic and finished companion bind on pickup, so another engineer cannot craft the pet for you.
Choose Gnomish Engineering
Lil' Smoky is the Gnomish Engineering counterpart to the Goblin Engineer's Pet Bombling.
Because the Vanilla schematic is tied to Gnomish membership renewal gifts, the collector must be on the Gnomish specialization path.
Renew membership until the schematic appears
Membership Card Renewal costs 2 gold. The Classic Engineering guide says a Gnome Engineer's Renewal Gift arrives about 24 hours after renewal and can contain Schematic: Lil' Smoky.
The schematic is a random reward rather than a guaranteed renewal result, so several renewals may be required.
Craft Lil' Smoky at Engineering 205
The recipe requires one Core of Earth, two Gyrochronatoms, one Fused Wiring, two Mithril Bars, and one Truesilver Bar.
Lil' Smoky binds on pickup in Vanilla Classic. A non-engineer cannot buy the finished companion from another player, and a Goblin Engineer cannot substitute for the required Gnomish route.
Do not use later-version Gnomeregan sources
Patch 3.1 later moved the schematic to mechanical enemies in Gnomeregan and removed the old renewal-gift method.
That later source does not apply to the Vanilla Classic acquisition documented on Forever Companions.
This tiny peacekeeper security bot is often outfitted with the latest arcane nullifiers and crowd pummelers. Not for the environmentally minded.
