How to get Ancona Chicken
Travel to Magus Tirth at Mirage Raceway in Thousand Needles, around 78.2, 75.8. The Ancona Chicken costs 1 gold and is available to both factions. If Magus Tirth is not already offering the pet, target him and use /chicken, then /beckon. This is separate from the Prairie Chicken quest in Westfall, which rewards a different companion.
Find Magus Tirth at Mirage Raceway
Magus Tirth is located beside the stands at Mirage Raceway in the Shimmering Flats of Thousand Needles, around 78.2, 75.8.
Both Alliance and Horde can collect Ancona Chicken from this vendor.
Use /chicken and /beckon if needed
The Classic companion guide notes that Magus Tirth may not immediately behave like the Ancona Chicken vendor. If the pet is not available, target him and use /chicken, followed by /beckon.
Once the interaction is complete, purchase the Ancona Chicken for 1 gold and use the item to learn the companion.
Ancona Chicken is not Prairie Chicken
Old comments frequently confuse Ancona Chicken with the Westfall chicken quest. They are separate companions with different acquisition methods.
Prairie Chicken comes from the CLUCK! quest involving /chicken and Special Chicken Feed. Ancona Chicken is the 1-gold Mirage Raceway vendor pet.
The WoW Pet Journal gives Ancona Chicken a very short warning: it apparently thinks adventurers taste like chicken too.
